from Yury regarding term paper and final
19 March 07 07:23 PM | dmattia | 0 Comments

Dear class,

As you all know, the final examination is quickly approaching. So far, all students I talked to recently have been telling me that the material is clear and easy to understand, so I expect high scores and good grades. If you have any last-minute questions, don't hesitate to contact Davide or myself. I'll be in the office all day tomorrow, except 10-11 a.m. Some of you asked me about the length of the paper. Please let me remind you that 5 pages of single-spaced text are the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM. Your paper cannot exceed this length. Even if it is a very exciting one, Davide and I will have to read a lot - we both will read every paper that you submit. Thus, if you can present the topic in a shorter format you are welcome to do so. I want to see your critical analysis of literature and be able to understand the ideas that you want to convey. If you can do it on 3 pages instead of 5, that's fine, as long as you have a convincing story. Of course, a one-page abstract with a single reference to Wikipedia is NOT enough. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow at 6 p.m.

Yury

Final and term paper
09 March 07 11:23 PM | dmattia | 0 Comments

Hello all,

the final will be similar to the mid-term: no books, notes etc.

The term paper is due on the day of the finals. Please follow the guidelines reported in the sillabus, in particualr please don not exceed the maximum length.

For those of you who have not yet chosen a topic, please do so ASAP and communicate it to Yury and to me. Many of the topics suggested in the Syllabus have already been chosen by other colleagues, so please decide quickly.

As usual, I am available for any question you might have:

email: davide.mattia@drexel.edu

phone: 0355

thanks,

Davide
