Homework 3

Homework 3 due Friday by 3 pm.

1)      Define Mutarotation. How can it affect the resulting natural polymer?

2)      How does starch structure determine its apparent viscosity?

3)      Based on a literature search, describe a recent, novel material use for cellulose.

4)      Hyaluronic Acid has been the polysaccharide of choice for cosmetic implants. Based on its structure, explain why.

Drexel Has cancelled the class

The notes will be for next week's class plus the additional ones I upload next week. I can now envision a  very long class next week (3-4 hours) so please come prepared! Sorry but I am melting!

Has the power been turned on in Curtis yet? I have it on good authority we might be without power tonight. If so, I will find a suitable area. My office right now is 87.

HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT #2

Hi guys,

Here is the DNA homework assignment. I made it easy as you have to complete this by Wed the 31st. I will assemble homework 3 to hand out on the 31st. Only the students who did not present their review paper in a 5 minute presenation are required to turn this in. The rest of the class should use this for preparation for the final.
