Union College MechE Tenure-Track Positions

UNION COLLEGE

The Mechanical Engineering Department invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the assistant professor level starting 1 September 2007, in the general areas of materials engineering, mechetronics/controls, bioengineering, and thermal-fluid Science.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach core undergraduate mechanical engineering courses, upper level courses in field of specialty, and courses to non-engineering majors.  The successful candidate will also direct undergraduate research/design projects, teach undergraduate laboratories and maintain an active research program. Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.

The Mechanical Engineering program at Union emphasizes undergraduate research, hands-on laboratory and design projects, international experiences, and close collaborations between faculty and students. The department currently has major initiatives in bioengineering, energy, nanotechnology, composite materials, and teaching engineering to non-engineering majors.
