Assistant Professor of Metallurgical Engineering

Department of the University
of Missouri – Rolla is
seeking highly qualified applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor in
metallurgical engineering. Applicants
are expected to have earned doctoral degrees in metallurgical engineering or
related fields of materials science & engineering. Post-doctoral research and teaching
experience in metallurgical engineering are highly desirable. The successful applicant will be expected to
teach metallurgical engineering undergraduate and graduate courses, and develop
a self-sustaining, extramurally funded and internationally acclaimed research
program. Research and teaching areas of
interest include extractive and process metallurgy, metals manufacturing and
processing, and mathematical modeling of metallurgical processes and
products. Our metallurgical engineering
program is one of the largest and most respected in the US. The materials science and engineering
department has 17 full-time tenure/tenure track faculty with 165 undergraduate
students and 65 graduate students.
