DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL & MATERIALS ENGINEERINGThe University of Cincinnati is seeking to fill
two tenure-track faculty positions, one in Chemical Engineering and the other in Materials Science and Engineering, at the assistant or associate professor level. The positions are intended to enhance the College-wide initiative on Emerging Energy Systems (EES), where faculty research and teaching focus is on activities related to fuel cells, hydrogen production and storage, alternative fuels, biomass conversion, solarenergy conversion, nano-structured materials and like energy related areas.
Applicants for these positions are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering, materials science and engineering or related fields, and to have ongoing research interests in the above energy related areas. US citizenship or permanent resident status is preferable but not essential. Applicants will be expected to develop and maintain a high quality, funded research program, and to play key roles in advancing the goals of the EES initiative. Applicants will also be expected to teach chemical and materials engineering courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The department has 26 tenure-track faculty and 140 graduate students, offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees and has very strong sponsored research programs.
