Position Specifications:
Title: Materials Engineer
Location: Towson (Baltimore), MD, with travel requirements
Education: - B.S. Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Plastics Engineering.
Experience: - Up to 3 years experience in engineering and manufacturing in the Materials field preferred.
- Prefer experience with plastics, elastomers, finishes, lubricants, adhesives, and ceramics.
- Experience in materials testing, and knowledge of laboratory procedures.
- Interpersonal skills – capable of interfacing with all levels of the business
Job Specifications:
(Key results expected from this position in the first 6-12 months)
- Provide direction and input in the area of Non-Metallic Materials Engineering for the world-wide power tools and accessories business for New Product Design.
- Provide Technical support to manufacturing and purchasing, including process development, materials evaluation, supplier development, and Value Improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and develop Color Harmonization methods and procedures.
- Train Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers in Polymers and Color Analysis.
- Maintain and develop Materials Laboratory procedures and equipment.
- Maintain and develop non-metallic materials specifications
