Setting a Meeting Time and Related Issues
Thank you to everyone who was able to make Wednesday's meeting...apologies for the short notice on that...Week 1 is pretty hectic. Would everyone please get a hard copy of their Fall Term class schedules to me this week so that I can try to work out a time to meet that's good for everyone...you all and me, plus when a room is available. You can drop 'em off in my mailbox in the main office. Thank you.
Some answers to the Q's that were asked last evening:
1. No, you are NOT required to Register for the ECE Senior Design sequence...you register for MatE-491,2,3 and simply "sit in" on the ECE lectures...but it is important that you do attend those, so I will be asking you for brief written reports on the lectures just to check.
2. Senior Design for Materials Engineering IS apparently a Writing Intensive course...and I am looking into what that means and what it entails and will post more information once I know it.
3. MSE Dept. BS/MS students do NOT need to register for the MatE-491,2,3 sequence...you should be registered for "Research" and "Thesis"...but you do need to make the 3 oral progress reports at the same time as the regular MSE Dept. Seniors.
Finally...for those of you who missed or didn't know about yesterday's course meeting (Steve Niezgoda, Daniel Vryhof, Molly Stewart, Carl Lee...did I miss anyone
)...please stop by my office sometime this week and I'll give you copies of the materials I passed out to everyone else...it's important that you all have this and understand the requirements and expectations of you for this coming year...especially how your projects/research will be assessed.
